The wait is long last over for the new season of "Top Boy" as Ashley Walters — who plays the fearless drug lord Dushane on the show — revealed that the program is returning March 18 on Netflix. The actor's Instagram post shows a video of the official advertisement going up on a building, revealing the release date and the slogan, "Loyalty Before Everything."
The long delay between seasons — audiences were last treated to "Top Boy" in 2019 — is due in large part to the coronavirus pandemic. Walters teased audiences with a video from filming in December of 2020 while wearing a protective mask.
This is the second season that "Top Boy" will be released on Netflix after two seasons on British Channel 4. The show spent some time shelved until Drake brought it overseas, complete with a soundtrack highlighting the UK's top artists and some of the show's stars, including Dave and Little Simz.
After the success of the 2019 season, Netflix brought back the original seasons as well under the name "Top Boy: Summerhouse." Unfortunately, one of the seasons has been pulled from the site, but viewers can still catch up on most of the drama surrounding Dushane and his business partner-turned-rival Sully (played by rapstar Kano) before the new season starts this spring.
