Snoop Dogg is back in his Latin bag as he teamed up with Grammy-winning singer Lupillo Rivera, Mexican rising stars Alemán and Santa Fe Klan, and Cypress Hill icon B-Real for a mega track called "Grandes Ligas" ("Big Leagues" for those who don't know).
And it's a big league song for sure as the video features the All-Star lineup, calling themselves Los Peloteros, wreaking havoc throughout México and Los Angeles. Santa Fe Klan rabble rouses a local baseball game while Rivera schemes on a yacht and Alemán goes underground to make his statement. It has a surprise ending that makes the video nothing short of cinematic.
"Grandes Ligas," produced by Z Records and George Prajin, infuses elements of various cultures for the soundscape to unite all the artists under the West Coast banner. Prajin is CEO of Prajin Parlay, where Rivera is signed to a record and management deal, and masterminded the cut.
“It was important that this song be done with '90s West Coast-style production because it is a timeless record with some heavy hitters that are legends in their respective genres — this is the big leagues," Prajin said in a statement. "From the moment I came up with the idea for the collab I was set on it embodying the golden era of West Coast rap."
Snoop Dogg has previously collaborated with Alemán on the G-Funk infused "Mi Tío Snoop," which has 61 million YouTube views since its release in November. B-Real and Alemán also worked together on last year's "Vision." Around that time, the Doggfather made a splash when he collaborated with Banda MS for the April 2020 smash hit "Qué Maldición."
He's collaborated and run the same circles with B-Real and Cypress Hill several times. His friendship with Rivera goes back much farther as both attended Long Beach Poly High School.
This is the first time Alemán and Santa Fe Klan have collaborated. Both have 3.2 and 2.5 million followers respectively on Instagram and have built their platforms by capturing attention through their fierce delivery and electric energy that transcends language.
