They're back.
Migos announced their long-awaited "Culture III" album Monday in a format emulating Michael Jordan's iconic return from retirement in 1995. His agent sent a fax that said the superstar's lone comment was "I'm back."
The trap trio made a simple social media post written on Quality Control letterhead and the intro of a press release. All that Offset, Quavo and Takeoff had for fans was, "June 11th. We're back."
It signals the release date for the third installment of the "Culture" series, which started in 2017 with the hit singles "Bad & Boujee," "T-shirt" and "Slippery." The album went platinum in six months.
"Culture II" came a year later, in January of 2018 with an extensive 24-song tracklist that featured "Walk It, Talk It" with Drake and "MotorSport" with Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. That project is certified two-times platinum.
Since then, all three members have released solo projects, Offset spent time raising his daughter (named Kulture, of course) with Cardi B and Quavo had a very public breakup with Saweetie. Takeoff remains the silent lyrical assassin of the group.
On Friday, Migos released, "Straightenin," the first single off "Culture III."
