Listen To The Game's "A.I. With The Braids" Single Featuring Lil Wayne

The Game is back with a saucy new track featuring Lil Wayne, "A.I. With the Braids." It's a dedication to the one and only Allen Iverson and his influence on hip-hop.

“Every kid including myself wanted to be Allen Iverson," The Game says in a press release of the Mike Zombie-produced song, "from the baggy jerseys with the diamond chains, to the designs in his braids and whole swagger. Girls were in love with him and he was pound for pound the best player in the NBA. A.I. went from being my idol as a kid to being my brother in real life, so it’s only right I pay homage.”

The Answer was the 1996-97 Rookie of the Year after he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers as the first overall pick out of Georgetown. He went on to become an 11-time All-Star and Hall of Famer. His famous crossover move is highlighted throughout the song.

Iverson had hopes of his own rap career. He performed under the name Jewelz and released the single "40 Barz" in 2000, but his full-length album never saw the light of day. He caused controversy for his hip-hop style that didn't match the image that the league wanted to portray.

The song shouts out several other basketball legends, including current 76ers star Ben Simmons, MVPs LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant and Hall of Fame big man Dikembe Mutombo.

The Game also throws a jab at his former G-Unit compadre 50 Cent, referencing their brief reunion at a club in 2018 and 50's record-breaking Starz show "Power," when the raps "Tommy got more power than Kanan/They wanna know what I whipered in 50's ear/G-Unit motherfucker, the real ghost is here."

"A.I. With the Braids" is The Game's first single since last year's "Born 2 Rap" album. The West Coast veteran and Young Money king previously collaborated on several singles, including 2008's "My Life," 2011's "Red Nation" and "Martians vs. Goblins."
